Ooh lucky you! A plant is such a thoughtful gift as with just a little bit of love and attention it can last for ages. We've put together a few handy hints to help you take care of your new addition (and don't worry, there's no need to sing to it!)

Where should I put my plant?

Your plant will love to have lots of natural light, but it won't love direct sunlight or draughts too much, so avoid windowsills if you can.

How should I look after my plant?

Keep the compost moist, but don't go too crazy on the watering as if your plant gets waterlogged it won't be happy. If your plant has flowers, remove any faded heads to encourage more to grow.

A few other things to bear in mind:

We're sure we don't need to remind you that your plant will prefer to be upright at all times! We'd also recommend popping your plants on a mat or coaster to protect your surfaces from any spillages or scratches.
